The Digital Switchover will take place across the UK between 2007 and 2012. This will involve switching the current analogue television signal to Digital. Anyone without a digital aerial or satellite will need to convert or upgrade their TV and recording equipment to receive digital television.

1 in 4 UK households are not receiving the full range of digital television channels through their freeview and set top boxes because they have not upgraded their aerial to digital.

1 in 5 UK households cannot get Five through their analogue aerials due to poor reception - in most cases switching to digital would improve reception quality plus offer more choice of channels.
